Uzbek Plov
Ingredients
500 long-grain rice
500 beefs
2 onions
3 carrots
vegetable oil
salt
black pepper
cumin
paprika
1 whole garlic
hot water
Steps
Step 1
Rinse the rice and let it soak.
Step 2
Heat oil in a large pot.
Step 3
Sauté the onions until golden.
Step 4
Add the meat and sear well.
Step 5
Add carrots, spices, salt, and pepper.
Step 6
Cover with water and simmer for 30–40 minutes.
Step 7
Add the drained rice on top without stirring.
Step 8
Push the whole garlic head into the center.
Step 9
Cover and cook on low heat until the rice absorbs all the liquid.
Step 10
Gently mix before serving.
What makes this dish special?
My favorite dish from childhood, the one my family used to prepare for holidays, family gatherings, and even weddings. It may not look like much at first glance, but it is pure comfort and incredibly delicious.
