Ingredients

1 cup black chickpeas
1 medium potato
1 / 2 cups, chopped onion
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon ground garlic
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 / 2 tablespoons turmeric powder
1 / 2 tablespoons red chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 / 2 teaspoons coriander powder
2 tablespoons salt
4 green chilies
4 dried red chilies

Steps

Step 1
Wash thoroughly and soak chola overnight with 5 cups of water . Boil soaked chola with 6 cups of water and 1 tsp salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder. Boil it for around or until the chola is soft and all the water dried. Make sure chola doesn’t get so dry and there still a little bit water left as gravy. Boil potato in a separate pot until soft.
Step 2
In a pan warm the cooking oil. Add chopped onions and green chilies fry them until light golden brown. Add 1 tbsp salt to the mixture.
Step 3
Then add ginger and garlic paste and mix well. Add cumin powder and coriander powder mix it. Cook for 5 minutes on medium high heat.
Step 4
Add boiled chola and keep stirring until chola and spices are mixed well.
Step 5
Then add boiled potatoes. Before adding the potato massed it with your hand. Gently mix the potato with the chola.
Step 6
Cover and cook on medium low heat for 15 minutes. Uncover, stir and add fried red chilies. Before adding break them in pieces. Mix everything together and stir them for another 15 minutes on medium low heat.
Step 7
Have the chola bhuna with chopped onions, green chilies, cucumber, coriander leaves and tomatoes as salad.
